    The new L-260 Audio Controller Test Panel provides for standardized testing of aircraft audio controller and amplifier panels.  This panel is designed with standard tests for checking all makes and models of audio panels.  This replaces the old L-240 panel and cuts testing time significantly.  The new L-260 test for the Pilot, Copilot, Comm, and NAV audio channels are basically the same for all units under test with only the number of channels available changing.  Most of the intercom testing is also standard.  

    The panel has a 3 1/2 digit meter used to monitor the DC input voltage, DC currents draw, Speaker output RMS voltage and a RMS voltage position that monitors the signal selected by the RMS Metered switch.

    The RMS Metered switch allows the monitoring of the following signals:

Position                        Signals from:
MIKE             Mike Audio Inputs switch [ measure the audio applied from your signal generator
                            to the selected mike input line ]

C-MIKE        Crew Mike Audio Inputs switch [ measure the audio applied from your signal
                            generator to the selected crew mike inputs ]

PHONE        Phone Lines Out switch [ measure the audio voltage output from the selected line]

MIKE AUDIO    Mike Line Outputs switch [ measure the audio voltage output to the selected
                                COMM mike line]

SPEAKER    Measures output voltage on the Speaker line.

PA                  Measures output voltage on the PA line.

EXT               Measures output voltage on the External speaker line. [ramp hail]

X CON          Measures the voltage at the intercom cross connect.

AUX 1, 2, 3    Measures Aux lines out [ see our cable note sheet for unit under test ]

REC IN        Measures the audio applied from your signal generator to the receiver inputs
                        selected by the Receiver Audio switch.

SAMPLE TEST:

Pilot Mike to COMM 1

    Connect microphone to L-260 Mike Jack.
    Select Pilot on MIKE AUDIO INPUTS switch.
    Select Pilot on MIKE KEY INPUTS switch.
    Select COM 1 on MIKE LINE OUTPUTS switch.
    Select MIKE AUDIO on RMS METERED switch.
    Select RMS VOLTS on METERING switch.
   

    Unit Under Test:  Power unit up.
    Set unit for Pilot to transmit on COM 1.

    Select L-260 KEY switch KEY.
    Speak into mike and observe output on L-260 panel meter and KEY OUT lamp on.

Repeat the above for each COMM 2 thru COMM 5.

Repeat all the above but with COPILOT in place of Pilot.

The panel is 7" high by 19" wide and 51/2"deep.  The panel comes with a cabinet back and can be used rack mounted or stand alone.
