L-260 AUDIO CONTROLLER
TEST PANEL
The new L-260 Audio Controller Test
Panel provides for standardized testing of aircraft audio controller and
amplifier panels. This panel is designed with standard tests for checking
all makes and models of audio panels. This replaces the old L-240 panel
and cuts testing time significantly. The new L-260 test for the Pilot,
Copilot, Comm, and NAV audio channels are basically the same for all units under
test with only the number of channels available changing. Most of the
intercom testing is also standard.

LH 4 Headset Tester Update:
We have made a modification to the Mike
Level control for the LH 4 when using a power mike. This modification adds
more range of mike bias current/voltage adjustment. There is a fee of
$65.00USD for addition of the modification plus shipping to and from factory.
And if LH 4 is still under warranty we will wave the modification fee.
Drop us an email for shipping instructions and a estimated turn around time.

LV 6 panel
meter reading. The LV 6 panel meter indicates microamps current flow thru
one FLAG or DEVIATION load. The confusion occurs when we get in the
habit of thinking of the reading as millivolts. Of course 100uA thru 1K
ohm resistance develops 100mV so its is easy to read it as millivolts. But
remember that the navigation indicator meter movements are current devices.
And now days with electronic displays its millivolts across the load.
We had to
pick one or the other. Since the old LV 5 used microamp meters and the LV
6 needed to be backwards compatible, the LV 6 meter reads out in microamps.
When
reading the TO-FROM current flow thru a 200 ohm load resistance requires a
little math. Take the reading times 2 then move the decimal point
left one place. (.2 X reading = mV) 950uA=190mV /
1000uA = 200mV / 1050uA=210mV
The decimal
point is missing in the formula shown in the LV 6 manual.

New Meter Calibration Instruction sheets available, click here
Calibration.
Notice:
owners of LinAire LXS 4 panels:
There has been a problem found
with the SDI switch. This mistake will
cause the wrong transponder side to be identified as follows: ALL CALL
position will ID the transponder as XPNDR #1 and the XPNDR #1 position as XPNDR#2
and the XPNDR#3 as ALL CALL. Also the ON/STBY
switch should ground the standby line in the STBY position. This switch
maybe wired backwards. These switches can be rewired
in about 5 minutes to match the panel face, see the instructions in UPDATES.

The LX9022 harness will operate the GTX327 with the Linaire LX-3B test panel.
Notice:
owners of the LinAire LTC6 Control Head:
There has
been a problem found with the LTC6 control head (7064 and below) in that the
extended frequency range does not function correctly. To correct this
problem the customer needs to do two things, first: Return the control
head to the factory for modification (please give us a call (1-800-282-2253)
before returning so we can provide a fast turn-around), second: Customer
needs to modify the LT5 test panel.
Returning the control head:
Pack in suitable box and ship
to:
Linaire
Engineering Inc.
31014 Ford
Road
Garden City,
MI 48135
U.S.A.
Customer
pays shipping to and from factory. The modification is free.
LT5 Test panel requires the
following:
Check for a wire from LT5 P1 panel
connector pin 42 wired to P2 (control head) connector pin 21. This wire
must be present for the modified LTC-6 to provide extended frequencies
116.00-117.975 and 140.00-151.975 MHz. Some LT5 panels have a wire from
P1 pin 42 to P2 pin 22, in this case just move the wire at P2 pin 22 to P2 pin
21.
The following LTC6 control heads
have been returned and corrected. serial # 7049, 7054, 7061

codes selectable by a toggle switch and thumbwheels. This replaces the old LVC 4
(2X5) and LVC 5 (BCD King off-set) control heads.
The LTC 6 operates 2 of 5 or BCD codes selectable by
a toggle switch and thumbwheels. This
