LX 4 PANEL FEATURES
-
3 1/2 digit Meter Monitors voltage or current to
unit under test selected by meter switch
-
DC Power Fuse Check unit under test power
requirements for fuse size. Panel supplied with 5 amp fuse.

AC Power Fuse Check unit under test power
requirements for fuse size. Panel supplied with 5 amp fuse.
-
STBY-OFF switch STBY position applies power to
panel and transponder in standby.
-
ON-STBY switch ON position powers up transponder.
-
14VDC/28VDC switch Selects operation voltage of
unit under test. Check proper voltage needed for unit under test.
-
REPLY SENSE pot Adjust brightness of reply lamp,
see note sheet for unit under test.
-
REPLY LAMP Uses lamp type number 338.
-
LO SENSE/OFF switch Selects units' lo-sense
operation when available.
-
A TEST/OFF switch Selects A mode self test when
available.
-
GROUND/AIR switch Disables reply when in ground
position.
-
C TEST/OFF switch Select C mode self test when
available.
-
IDENT/OFF switch Selects IDENT mode.
-
A MODE/OFF switch Enables A mode operation, some
units automatically enable A mode operation and consequently A mode on these
units cannot be turned off. Select 0000 to eliminate all reply except the
framing pulses. Consult specs and note sheets.

B MODE/OFF switch Enables B mode operation, not
all units are capable of B mode operation consult specs and note sheets.

C MODE/OFF switch Enables C mode operation.
-
D-MODE/OFF switch Enables D mode operation not
all units are capable of D mode operation consult specs and note sheets.

A ENCODE THUMBWHEEL Used to set the A mode code.
Make sure all of the A mode toggle switches are in the OFF or C-MODE position
when using the thumbwheel. When thumbwheel is not in use set all digits to
ZERO.

A ENCODE TOGGLE switches Used to set each A mode
code bit when in the up position. Make sure all of the thumbwheel digits are
set to ZERO.

C ENCODE TOGGLE switches Used to set each C mode
code bit when in the down position.

P 4 TEST JACKS Used on some unit under test that
have external test points for voltages and signals. Each jack connects to the
same pin number in connector P 4. See harness note sheets for each unit under
test for jack assignment.

P 1 LX-3B HARNESS This connector is provided for
backwards compatibility with the old LX-3 harnesses. Allows updating from the
old LX-3B panel without the need to replace your old LX harnesses.

P 2 A-MODE Used to output A mode to those units
that use external A mode code input.
-
P3 MAIN Used to output C mode and all other
control lines as well as power.
-
P4 TEST JACK Used to monitor test points

Two digit systems use the first two
wheels from the left. Pulses A1, A2, A4, B1, B2, B4.
SIZE & FINISH
The LX-4 is a cabinet enclosed unit measuring 5 1/2 inches high, 19 inches wide
and 5 1/4 inches deep. The panel finish is an epoxy based LinAire Tan with
Dark Brown lettering and knobs of Brown with Gold trim.
