LV 6 PANEL METER CALIBRATION
BASIC METER CALIBRATION
ALL TESTS REQUIRE AT LEAST 115 VAC POWER  and the LV 6 panel Power switch in the ON position.  Other power requirements as noted in each section.
NOTE:  LV 6 meter must be calibrated while installed in the LV 6 panel.  Do not switch meters to a different LV 6 panel because this voids all calibrations!
Select NAV DEV on the LV 6 panel meter switch.  Select the 1 load position on the Deviation Load switch.
Connect a calibrated 100 uAmp DC source to the LV 6 panel NAV/LOC DEV L and R tip jacks.
If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (100.0) +/- .1uA  +/-  1 LSD then the basic meter calibration is out of limits.  The adjustment maybe made by the trim pot located on the lower left side of the meter.  After adjustment check meter with 199 uADC  and than 50uADC for correct readings.  If either reading is out of limits send panel and meter to LinAire for repair and/or meter replacement.  Please include your test findings.    Note: 100uA across 1k ohm = 100mV

DC VOLTS
Select DC VOLTS on the LV 6 panel meter switch.  Apply 28 volts DC to LV 6 panel.
Connect your calibrated DVM to the LA NAVS connector pin 1 (HI) and pin 2 (LOW) on the LV 6 panel.
If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (28.0)  +/- 1 LSD.  The DC VOLT trim pot needs to be adjusted.  The DC VOLT trim pot is the third hole from the front of the meter on its left side.

DC AMP
Select DC AMP on the LV 6 panel meter switch.
Connect your calibrated Current Meter to the LA NAVS connector pin 1 and a resistor load bank to LA NAVS connector  pin 2.  Any DC voltage between 1 VDC and 32VDC can be used for this test as long as the supply can provide 5 ampere of current.  The supply should be voltage or current regulated.

Adjust input supply for a reading of 5 amps on your current meter and read the  LV 6 panel meter.

If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (5.00)  +/- .05 amps +/- 1 LSD the DC AMP trim pot needs to be adjusted.  The DC AMP trim pot is the fourth hole from the front of the meter on its left side.

26 ACV
Select 26VAC on the LV 6 panel meter switch.
Connect your calibrated DVM to LV 6 panel tip jack Compass H and tip jack ZZ.
If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (26.0)  +/- .1 volt -/+ 1 LSD the AC VOLTS trim pot needs to be adjusted.  The AC VOLTS trim pot is the fifth hole from the front of the meter on its left side.
AUDIO RMS
The above 26 ACV calibration also calibrated this position.
115 ACV
The above 26 ACV calibration also calibrated this position.

NAV FLAG in uAmp
Select NAV FLAG on the LV 6 panel meter switch.  Select the 1 load position on the Flag Load switch.
Connect a calibrated 1 mAmp DC source to the LV 6 panel NAV/LOC Flag + and - tip jacks.
If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (1000) +/- 2 LSD the NAV FLAG trim pot needs to be adjusted.  The NAV FLAG trim pot is the second hole from the front of the meter on its left side.  Note: reading can be read as mVDC across 1k ohm load.

GS FLAG in uAmps
Select GS FLAG on the LV 6 panel meter switch.  Select the 1 load position on the FLAG Load switch.
Connect a calibrated 1 mAmp DC source to the LV 6 panel GS FLAG + and - tip jacks.
If the LV 6 panel meter reads more than (1000) +/- 2 LSD the GS FLAG trim pot needs to be adjusted.  The GS FLAG trim pot is the first hole from the front of the meter on its left side. Note: reading can be read as mVDC across 1k ohm load.

GS DEVIATION in uAmps
NO Calibration needed. This is a basic meter reading.  To check apply 100uAmp DC source to the LV 6 panel GS DEV U and DEV D tip jacks.

TO-FROM FLAG This is also a basic meter reading, however, apply 1mA DC at the LV 6 TO-FROM tip jacks.  The meter will indicate the current thru the flag load in microamperes.  To find the voltage applied to flag ( mVDC= .2 x reading).  1000uA=200mV
