LRA 6102 Notes

LRA 6102 Revision A

This harness has been changed to provide easier and more complete testing of the ALI 100 radio altimeter system. Designed to operate the 860F-4 (T/R) with the 339H-6 (IND). An accessory box with additional switches and test point jacks has been added to the cable.

With this cable and the LRA 2 panel the Collins 860F-4 Radio Altimeter Test Fixture shown in the Collins maintenance manual Figures 903 -904 can be closely followed.

The customer must supply all test equipment external of the 860F-4 Test Fixture plus there is one addition test box /cable that must be either made by the customer or purchased from Linaire as a kit or complete wired unit. This connects to the front test connector of the 860F-4. SEE Collins maintenance manual Figure 103 sheet 1 and 2 for bench test setup.

The following is a list of the panel and cable switches/test jacks:

T/R Cable Switch TRIP 28V/GND

This switch selects the trip common. The GND position is needed to work with the LRA 2 panel DH Lamps and the 339H-6 part no. CPN 622-4563-002, -004, -006, -007, -008, -11 to provide GND to trips 6, 7, and 8.

The 28V position is used with the 339H-6 part no. CPN 622-4563-001, -005 to provide 28VDC to DH trips 6, 7, and 8.

T/R Cable Switch TRIM IN / TRIM OUT

This switch is used to connect altitude trip trim resistors for the Collins test setup. Collins refers to this switch as S19 TRIP TRIM.

T/R Cable Switch AUX ALT / AP ALT

This switch is used to connect +30VDC thru a 1K ohm resistor. Collins test setup refers to this switch as switches S6 and S7.

IND Cable Switch 002/001

This switch is used to setup the DH lighting on the variety of 339H-6 indicators. The 001 position setup connects P1A-j to P1A-h for 25VDC lighting power (-001) and 26VAC lighting power (-006, -007, -011). The 002 position is used to setup DH lighting on the 339H-6 (-002, -004, -005, -008).

IND Cable Switch 005/NORM

This switch in the NORM position is used to setup the DH lighting on the (-002, -004, -008) variety of the 339H-6 for 5VDC lighting power and in the 005 position 28VDC DH lighting power on the (-005) version.

The LRA 6102 ASSY TESTER can be built by the customer or purchased as a kit or an assembled tester from LinAire.  This is the bottom section of the test fixture in figure 905 of the Collins Manual.  It connects to the front test connector on the 860F-4 unit. A drawing of this circuit is included on the next page.
