LA2028   VC-401B   NOTE SHEET

The LA2028 harness is design to aid in bench testing the VC401B Comm Transceiver and CD-402A/B Comm Control Display. The harness is wired for the CD-402A/B control with test points for the controller and VC-401B Comm Transceiver. For 429 tuning there is a 9 pin DE-9S connector on the cable accessory box to input customer supplied 429 buss signals.

The harness is used with the Linaire LA-6 test panel.

The LA-6 test panel ON/OFF switch connects the 28V DC power to the units under test. The LA-6 test panel meters the voltage and current of unit under test.

The Microphone jack is used to input Mike Audio and PTT signal. If using audio generator the LA-6 test panel switch KEY can be used for PTT.

The Transceiver Comm Audio is routed to the LA-6 test panel phone channel. With the Phones Amplified/Normal in the Normal position the phones channel is available at the test panel Phones jack. With the switch in Phones Amplified position the phone audio is feed to an audio amp and then to the test panel speaker. Note that when you switch in the sidetone strap (on the cable box) the sidetone output is routed through the Comm Audio and will be available on the panel phone channel. When not strapped sidetone output is available at the SIDETONE HI jack and GND jack.

The control display Comm Audio out is available at CONT AUDIO tip jack on the cable box if the control has a volume control.

The data, clock and enable signals can be monitored at DATA, CLOCK, and ENABLE tip jacks on the cable box.

The Data In and Data Out are available at the cable box tip jacks and in the DE-9S connect. The Data Key and Voice/Data switches are available on the cable box.

When using 429 tuning buss connect it using a DE-9P to the connector on the cable box. The units 429 output can be monitored at the tip jacks on the cable box and is also available at the cable box connector.
